Well, another year is on its way out—they seem to be passing by faster and faster. So much so, that in researching back over the past year for this post, I realized I never posted a ‘Best Of’ for 2018. And beyond that, there was a gap from August 2018 – June 2019 when I didn’t post anything AT ALL! Well, it has been a busy two years with adjusting to being back to work, trying to ‘fit it all in’, and traveling more than we have in some time; it didn’t leave much time for blogging. The 2018 post is now up, and without further ado, here is 2019!

Now, just because you haven’t seen much, doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing and taking some amazing pics of food. I’m still reading whenever I can and my second children’s book got my final stamp of approval and now it’s time to send it on to publishers. Hoping 2020 will be the year that I become a published author!

We traveled quite a bit this year in a short period of time. In the span of eight months, we were off on eight separate trips. Our Spring Break in March took us to charming Charleston and Beaufort, SC—Beaufort has got to be the lovliest, most laid back place I’ve been outside of Hawaii. Pensacola was the next destination for a high school graduation—we spent some time in our state capital, Tallahassee, on the way back. I was in Pittsburgh twice this year: once for a wedding and once for a funeral. Our summer was non-stop with travels to Maine, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Philadelphia and New Jersey. We finished out the year with an impromptu trip to San Diego for our first Friendsgiving.
My son’s state count is now up to 20; mine is up to 33!  Whew, what a year!

I’m looking forward to 2020 and all it has in store. I plan to take it easy over our two week break and just BE: no agenda, no expectations, just being present and enjoying the time with my family. Happy New Year!
